MAGIX™ PRO X English Release Information

I have from a secret source some information on the release of Pro X, the new professional edit suite from Magix™! The English and American version will be released November 17th, 2008! Initially it will be a download only product as Magix™ begins to enter the professional market and compete with the likes of Adobe, Avid & Sony.
As you know the German version has been out for several weeks. Pro X has been a long time coming. Many Magix™ users have long known the product is very capable of competeing with larger and more expensive software video editors. From the early versions of Video Deluxe to the most recent Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus this software has always pushed the envelope of video editing and far surpassed other consumer products.

In addition to being a fantastic editor, Magix™ video editors have a long running record of reliability and durability. There are far less technical issues with it compared to other video software in its class. Plus its easy interface makes it a smoother switch from other editors to the streamlined look and feel of Magix™. Pro X should be no different.

Introducing a new editor is not easy. I think Magix™ is smart in making the introduction a download only product for the time being. This will allow editors to test drive the product faster without having to make a commitment to it or wait for a box to arrive. (I assume there will be a trial version that you can purchase) Sony, Adobe & Avid users will find the interface different but should adapt quickly. Once you look under the hood you will find all the power and performance you would expect from a professional editing suite. Plus more, like a built in switcher and 3D titler!

Magix™ has a long history in the professional field with their audio editors, Samplitude™ and Sequoia™. You will find the same audio engine from these software giants in Pro X too, so you will also be getting a professional audio suite with the video editor! The keyframe editor enables extensive control over video effects in two steps: Quickly access object-based effects settings in the Media Pool and precisely edit Bézier curve control directly on the timeline as required.

Synchronize up to four camera recordings of events like weddings, concerts, or theatrical performances and change the perspective in real time with a mouse click. Another innovation allows you to automatically place video objects at the correct position on the timeline via a detailed audio analysis. You can resize and reposition the interface in any way you like even across multiple monitors. And customizable DVD menus with up to 8 audio tracks!

Full HD quality throughout the entire editing process, and then burn your projects on Blu-ray Disc with animated menus and 6-channel PCM Surround sound using the same functional scope as conventional DVD production (BDMV).

Personally I've been waiting a long time for this editor. I even suggested many of its functions. And I must admit I'm proud to see this software rise up to the level I have always known it could be. It's good to see it come of age. In todays technology market where products you buy are antiquated a few weeks after they are produced, there will be a video editor that can expand and develop along with future innovations. Your work flow will be much easier.

Continue to watch this blog for more news and information on Pro X. I will write reviews and continue to bring you the latest as I can get it from my sources.

I have used the now-defunct Ulead MediaStudio Pro product until it became somewhat outdated due to Corel's decision to abandon any future development on it. My search for a real alternative led to aborted flirtations with Pinnacle, Sony, etc.

Then I discovered Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 Plus. All I can say is WOW!!!

This is -- by far -- my favorite editor on the Windows platform. MAGIX Pro X should be dynamite. I don't know if I'll be able to spring for it right away because the economy is slowing down and things are a bit scary for consumers right now. But Magix definitely has earned my respect and PRO X is something I'm watching very closely.

Keep us informed. I'll be reading your Blog for details about this exciting new professional video editing product!

You got it! I'm sure I will be bringing you more on this exciting release. Sorry to hear about your woes with the other editors. I sympathize, I've been there. But since I found Movie edit pro I can honestly say I'm pretty much trouble free.

I don't work for Magix, but I do believe in the product. It has been a godsend for me and my business, and I expect PRO X will be even better. Enjoy!

Hi

Im a Magix Edit Pro 14 Plus user and I agree its excellent but I do have issues with Magix. Why are we always having to wait so long for an English version? By the time it gets here boxed, Germany will have a new product. There will be two Pro X. The prices here in UK will be around £200-£300 .

Part of the reason for waiting is the new versions have to be translated from German to English, then product has to be manufactured and distributed in America. This is why the download will become available Nov. 17th, so all can have it at the same time.
I believe it will run between $300 - $400 online and when the box version does arrive it may be more. The price of quality. Also Magix will need to step up with better support for it.
Time will tell. :-)

Yes their support is shocking. They seem only to want to concentrate on their bug related problems with the latest products. Myself and a video engineer have given Magix in Germany a hard time with technical isssues and problems. They are unable to answer most questions! Video Pro X has been available in Germany for some time now by the way!

I've purchased Video Pro X after having used previous versions of Magix editing software. I'm having difficulty activating it though. I never connect my work machine so couldn't activate via internet. I tried the phone number given which didn't connect to Magix! I tried several times.

I emailed them and I got an email back saying the machine code I'd given them gave an errow when they tried to generate an activation code. I checked the code I'd given them and it was correct?? I emailed them screen grabs of the codes from my machine and have heard nothing since!

I hope they get this sorted out soon as it doesn't give a good impression.

Well, I've now received my activation code from Magix and all is running fine. I've always prefered Magix editing software to the others so I'm rather pleased :0)
It definately seems faster and easier to use than Movie Edit Pro 14. I'm mainly editing soundtracks in it at present but even loading in some HD footage seemed more nippy. Great one Magix!
