Mastering Movie Edit Pro: Episode Five; Transparent Alpha Photos For MEP14+

In the previous episode we covered using Alpha Elements in MEP14+. Here I show you how to make a simple photo with feathered edges for layering. You do not have to make the gradient edge, any image placed on a transparent background will show video through the transparent area. I wanted a good blended look. You can use this technique to create feathered frames around images and layer them over video, then move them with key frames. I went through the tutorial quickly to save time so pay close attention.
Here is a little experiment to try, use the tutorial in the video but place the alpha photo to the right and around the bottom edge of the frame, then blend another photo or video as the background. The background will fill the screen around the blended photo. This way you can take advantage of more real estate on the screen and make a nice composite.
In the tutorial I placed the photo dead center, good but moving it around can make a pleasing image. Play with it and see what you can come up with!

Enjoy the show!
Did you know that Magix™ Extreme Photo Designer comes with Movie Edit Pro 14+??? This program will make transparent backgrounds too! Check it out, it's on your MEP disk!
